Transcription and translation from a template strand starting TAC

An example figure from the DNA and Protein Synthesis generator.

Five rows of base boxes lined up base under base, each with its 5′ and 3′ ends: the DNA coding strand 5′ ATG CCT AAG TTC GGC 3′, the DNA template strand 3′ TAC GGA TTC AAG CCG 5′, the mRNA 5′ AUG CCU AAG UUC GGC 3′, the tRNA anticodons UAC GGA UUC AAG CCG, and a chain of amino acid beads Met, Pro, Lys, Phe and Gly, one under each codon
A gene transcribed and translated, every row lined up base under base. The DNA template strand, written 3′ to 5′, starts TAC; the coding strand above it pairs A with T and G with C, and the mRNA below matches the coding strand with U in place of T. Each tRNA anticodon is complementary to its mRNA codon, and the amino acids methionine, proline, lysine, phenylalanine and glycine are joined in a chain under their codons.
